As you all know, we are a sucker for history. This is one hell of a piece of history. On my travels I came across a photo album. I opened it to find it wasn’t just any photo album it belonged to a lady who was a champion Ice skater from the 1950s. Not only did it have pictures of her ice skating but it had her wedding, including the menu, it also had newspaper clippings from her amazing career and right at the end it has a picture of her and her husband 50 years on. It’s so beautifully sad, how could someone part with such an amazing piece of history! I’ve kept all sorts of things I’ve done. From posters for gigs I’ve done to travel tickets from when I went to Paris. Some people would find it strange keeping things like this but it’s memories. I don’t have anything my great grandma wore or kept. So when my children are older, I hope they would keep my things! Yes, it’s strange buying someone else’s memories but it’s even stranger selling them! Family values are so important, even if you don’t have a big one.
